Andrew Lloyd Webber Works on making the Wizard of Oz a Big Success

20 04 2009

Andrew Lloyd Webber wants to ensure that his next show, the Wizard of Oz is a big success. Webber once stated that the key to a successful musical is the source material. Therefore he is writing another 6 numbers for the show to ensure that the show will be a hit. The roles of Dorothy and Toto are set to be cast on the BBCs reality TV show in 2010, so audiences have a while to wait yet. Currently Webber is concentrating his efforts on the second instalment of Phantom of the Opera which is why there will be no reality TV show casting this year on the BBC. The Wizard of Oz has always been a popular film and the Musical Wicked which tells the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West has been a big hit both in the West End as well as Broadway. If both these factors are anything to go by then surely Andrew Lloyd Webber is onto another winner.
