Are Ten Minute Plays the Future?

Many people are put off by the theatre as some shows can be very lengthy, but a new production in Manchester is set to change all that. The plays labelled Manchester’s JB shorts showcase a mini-festival of 6 plays each only 10 minutes in length. The mini festival which was set up by Trevor Suthers and John Chalmers, both Mancunian TV writers,was originally a way for them to relax in between writing for shows such as Coronation Street. Now the festival has become a success and has also become a showcase for spotting new talent in the North West. The festival is not a competition and is not funded, but even so it attracts a wide ranging audience, so if you fancy going to see something different next time you’re in Manchester, then why not try it out.
