Gareth Gates put and his Technicolor Dream coat

Lee Mead, was made famous by the TV show Any Dream Will Do but he has now hung up his Technicolor Dreamcoat and handed it to Gareth Gates, who was also made famous by a TV show Pop Idol.

Gates stated that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was the reason he first started singing when he took the lead in a school production when he was 8.

Gareth made his debut in the role on 11th February to a rapturous applause. Gates follows a long line of pop stars which have taken on this role, including Jason Donovan, Stephen Gately and Donny Osmond.
