Geoffrey Rush makes his Broadway Debut

3 04 2009

Geoffrey Rush is one of Hollywood’s most respected actors but now he is taking a break from the silver screen and making his Broadway debut in Exit the King. Rush plays King Berenger, a character who begins the play as loud and boisterous and ends being deaf dumb and blind, and a ghost of his former self. The show plays out in real time and rush portrays the deterioration of the king amazingly. He is able to contort his body and change his facial expressions in a moment providing a very convincing performance.
Let’s hope that this isn’t Rush’s only visit to the Broadway stage.
