The Edinburgh Fringe Festival announced its line up just over a week ago now so it will be interesting to see how this year’s festival fairs compared to last year. Many cynics are predicting a poor turnout with only average acts performing but so far things are looking good. Ticket sales figures are already close to last years and with ten extra shows mixing new acts with proven hits this year’s Festival is set to be very popular.
It may be that people choose to escape the doom and gloom of the recession and take to a trip to Edinburgh to see many of the acts in the Free Fringe which is set to showcase 465 performers.
I have been to the Edinburgh Festival many times over the years and always find new entertaining and interesting acts, and I have no reason to doubt that this year will be any different.
