James McAvoy, who first became known through his role as Steve in Channel 4 series Shameless is now treading the boards in the West End playing Walker Janeway in Richard Greenberg’s play, Three Days Of Rain.
McAvoy who has now established himself as a Hollywood A-lister stars alongside Lyndsey Marshal and Nigel Harman at the Apollo Theatre in London’s Shaftesbury Avenue at the end of this month.
The play sees brother and sister (McAvoy and Marshal) reunited for the reading of their father’s will. Also at the reading is Harman, who plays the son of their father’s ex business partner. The will reveals that the two siblings have been left a house and it is within this house that they find a diary entry containing just four words; Three days of rain. It is through this diary entry that a secret of their parents past is discovered.
The play sees the actors playing both the role of the children and of the parents, and shows how the actions of one generation affect the next.
The show will be running in the West End from 30th January to 9th May this year.
