The massive hit West End and Broadway musical Wicked has made the move to act tough on anyone caught recording the musical. The producers of the show announced that any fans caught recording the show would be banned from all future performances. This seems particularly ironic, as it was fans word of mouth, through internet sites such as Twitter and Facebook that originally led to the popularity of the musical and ultimately its great success.

The reason why many people went to see the show was due to the fact that they had seen internet video clips and then wanted to see the musical for themselves, so could this ban be detrimental to the show? The producers obviously don’t think so!!
