Obama on my Mind

27 01 2009

The new American president has been in office for a matter of days and already a musical based on his campaign office is set to hit the theatre in London.

The musical follows a successful workshop which took place last autumn at Baron’s Court Theatre. The man behind the idea for the show is American Teddy Hayes, famous for his crime novels. Teddy, who has been based in London since the 90s tells the story of eleven campaigners working hard to get Obama elected President. The musical numbers are said to be a mix of soft rock and gospel with the Title track being ‘Obama on my mind’.

The show celebrates the historical inauguration of President Obama and will be showing at the Hen and Chicken theatre in Islington from March 3rd until March 21st
