Contestants from the reality TV shows I’d Do Anything and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria have been cast in famous West End musical Les Miserables
Nancy Sullivan, who appeared recently in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s show looking for new talent to perform in the musical Oliver, will appear as Eponine in Les Miserables, while Leanne Dobinson, who was one of the ten contestants in the first show in the same series, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, has been cast as Cosette. Both will take up their roles on the 23rd of June.
Although neither performer succeeded in getting the roles they originally hoped for by entering into the reality TV shows, the exposure and the experience they gained from doing so was obviously enough to attract the attention of other talents scouts out there. Les Miserables is one of the most popular and certainly the longest running stage musical ever.
Katie hall, another contestant from I’d Do Anything, has recently been cast as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera by the same produces behind Les Miserables, and Daniel Boys, a finalist in Any Dream Will Do (another talent show in the same series, this one looking for a new Joseph for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) is now appearing in the show Avenue Q.
