Russ Abott Reclaims Fagin’s Role

14 04 2009

Comedian Russ Abbot, most famous for the Russ Abbot show in the 1980s is reclaiming his role as Fagin in the latest production of Oliver. Abbot last played the role 10 years ago when it ran at the Palladium and has since toured with the production. The change in actors comes about as Rowan Atkinson takes sick leave to go into hospital for a hernia operation. Rowan Atkinson played the role brilliantly and although Abbot is by no means new to the role he definitely has some big shoes to fill. Abbot is set to the play the role for two weeks from 13th April while Atkinson recovers from his operation.
