Scarlett Johansson Treads the Boards

23 03 2010

Scarlett Johansson is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood but now she has swapped the sliver screen to tread the boards on Broadway. The actress is currently starring in the play A View from a Bridge which is set in Working class Brooklyn in 1955. The play follows the relationship between a longshore man (Eddie Carbone) and his 17 year old niece (Johansson). Throughout the play the relationship between the two is destroyed as the uncle becomes obsessive of his niece and jealous of his wife’s cousin’s bond with Johansson.

Critics are often very sceptic of film stars trying to take on theatre roles but Johansson has proved them all wrong. They have given the play great reviews, and have praised Johansson highly for her performance.
