Love Never Dies, the Sequel to Phantom of the Opera had its premier in London on 9th March. It was a highly anticipated West End debut and those who have been to see it have very mixed reviews. Many critics have said that the performances are good although the story does not support the “imaginative superstructure”, while other critics have been a lot harsher and have gone on to refer to the new musical as “Paint Never Dries”, a reflection of how boring they found the show.
Webber stands firm by his new production and has hit back at critics saying that he believes that the musical is has one of the best scores he has ever written.
